Arthrex is actively searching for a Research Operations Finance Specialist. Join our talented team at a global medical device company focused on Helping Surgeons Treat Their Patients Better.Main Objective: - -Perform a wide range of projects and tasks as an operational liaison for research, regulatory agencies, or other external entities. Serves as the technical expert for team members for payment-related aspects of research. Processes payments and provides results, and performance metrics. Responsible for management and reporting functions for research activities, studies, grants and HCP payments through grants, contracts, or service agreement mechanisms. -Essential Duties and Responsibilities: -

  • Processes, records, and reports research contractual transactions and events in accordance with generally accepted principles, applicable regulations, and Arthrex policies. Processes all study-related payments of supported research as established in contracts and once milestones have been met. -
    • Evaluates, develops, and maintains processes to support the department strategic plans, supports contracting process, reports and updates as needed. - -
    • Provides technical guidance as it relates to processing and reporting research payments. Provides external teams with overview of research payments and reporting, in accordance with regulations and institutional policies. Provides training as needed. -
    • Partners with Transparency Reporting, Finance, Legal and Compliance to establish guidelines and best practices in reporting of research-related transactions, transfers of value, consultant payments and others. - -
    • Collaborates with Finance to generate ad-hoc financial reports as requested by leadership for decision-making as it relates to funded research projects. -
    • Stays abreast of issues impacting the healthcare industry, sponsored project research, and communicates those issues to team and management. Develops processes in support of regulatory requirements and makes recommendations to ensure compliance and transparency in transactions. -
      • Supports the department budgeting activities, projections and results. Analyzes contractual or financial results, trends, performance metrics and provides reports to support contracting and/or business decisions. -
      • Performs other duties as assigned or required. - -Education and Experience: - -
        • Bachelor's degree required. Master's degree preferred. - -
        • Graduation from college with a major in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. -
        • 3 years of relevant experience. Research experience is strongly preferred. -
        • Working knowledge of contracts and grants (funding) transactions and applicable financial systems, as well as related policy, accounting and regulatory compliance requirements. Experienced with the award mechanisms, including grants, contracts, and subcontracts. -
        • Thorough knowledge of and ability to interpret and apply institutional and departmental policies. Knowledge of current compliance regulations in all areas of research administration. -
          • Requires understanding of applicable compliance requirements related to use of human or animal subjects in research, financial conflict of interest, etc. - Knowledge and Skill Requirements/Specialized Courses and/or Training: -
            • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Office products -
            • High level of customer orientation -
