The Optum Enterprise Epic Services analysts will support our Nashville, TN office to establish and grow our emerging support service line. Analysts will serve as a liaison between end-users, project team members and other Information Management resources while providing exemplary customer service and Epic application support in their assigned Epic module(s). OEES team members will help position Optum as a center of excellence for application management services.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Translate business requirements into functional specifications and manages changes to specifications prioritize, coordinate, and implement updates and requested changes to the system; review and test each new release; troubleshoot problems and questions from end users
  • Design and develop clinical and business interfaces in the Epic system according to the project scope and end user workflow with scalability, standard development practices, and project constraints in mind
  • Analyze and complete required data conversions from third-party systems into the Epic EMR and other clinical applications
  • Provides technical guidance on large efforts within the area of scope with limited supervision
  • Collaborate with end users to design and build the Epic system in a timely and professional manner and make corrective configuration or enhancements
  • Develop, support, and maintain all required system design and build documents and other system documentation
  • Create detailed testing scripts for different phases of the testing lifecycle (functional testing, integrated testing, mapped record testing and/or parallel revenue cycle testing)
  • Perform daily monitoring of interfaces in production
  • Adhere to organization standards for system configuration and change control
  • Troubleshoot and/or resolve interface issues and escalate more complex issues as appropriate
  • Mentor less-experienced team members with the Epic interface environment and the organization interface engine

    Required Qualifications:
    • At least one active Epic certification(s) with proof of certificate number(s)
    • 2+ years Epic interface engine development experience
    • Epic systems application knowledge to build, test, and support various interfaces
    • Proficiency with MS Excel, Visio, PowerPoint and SharePoint
    • Ability to travel up to 10% annually, USA domestic locations. Travel may be lower depending on project requirements

      • Epic certification obtained in Rhapsody or other interface engine certification
      • Completed Epic CEE (Continued Epic Education) to maintain certifications, proficiencies, and badges
      • Additional Epic Certifications: ambulatory, resolute hospital or professional billing, HIM, cadence, prelude, clin doc, orders or other
      • Experience working with common interface engines (e.g. Corepoint, Ensemble, Rhapsody)
      • Ability to demonstrate and have a history of team management (informal or formal), cross-team communication and leadership skills Key Competencies:
        • Excellent time management, organizational, and prioritization skills and ability to balance multiple priorities
        • In-depth knowledge of Epic EMR and the full implementation lifecycle of Epic s suite of EMR applications
        • Teamwork and Collaboration. Consultative and collaborative style with demonstrated ability with cross-functional teams
        • Demonstrate the ability to build and maintain solid internal relationships as well as motivate and inspire other team members through solid consultative skills
        • Demonstrates a solid ability to build partnerships and influence others. Work across team, group and business boundaries to drive commonality and reusability in solution to real-world problems
        • Demonstrate solid relationship management skills and ability to handle challenging interpersonal situations

          Colorado, Connecticut or Nevada Residents Only: The salary range for Colorado residents is $66,100 to $118,300. The salary range for Connecticut / Nevada residents is $72,800 to $129,900. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
