Position Overview
Coordinates and conducts all concrete batching. Responsible for
general maintenance and cleanliness of all batch plant operations.
Fosters teamwork, positive work environment and overall safety of
yourself and others.
Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)
* Ensure Health & Safety standards are met by complying with
legislation, company policies and promoting a safe work
environment
* Maintain batch plant operations to ensure timely delivery of
concrete.
* Verify specific concrete mix design on incoming tickets and enter
it correctly into computer.
* Monitor gauges, dials and operation of machinery to ensure
conformance to processing specifications.
* Coordinates batching and loading of all concrete leaving the
plant. Gets driver feedback on concrete slumps to ensure proper
specifications are being met.
* Communicates and receives directions from dispatch, drivers,
operators and customers via radio/phone or tablet.
* Diagnoses and repairs basic batch plant equipment. Coordinates
equipment and personnel for larger/complex repairs.
* Accurately carries and stocks admixtures for batch plant.
* Direct general operations of loader operator and loader.
* Must be able to certify and operate the loader as needed.
* Must be able to obtain and maintain ACI and DOT
Certifications.
* Must be able to accurately enter the driver's timesheets in the
proper software systems.
* Responsible for the opening and closing of the plant, as well as
the security of the facility.
* Properly follow & promote all company policies and OSHA
regulations for safe working procedures and environment.
* Report any major maintenance or other plant related issues to
plant manager/supervisor.
* Must be able to maintain an acceptable attendance record in a
flexible work schedule.
* Must maintain at all times a strict adherence to safety
requirements and procedures.
* May perform other related duties as required or directed.
* Must be available to travel and work from other company
facilities as needed.
* Must possess a professional attitude while interacting with
peers, contractors and general public.
Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to
perform each essential duty according to Preferred Materials
guidelines and standards.
Education/Experience
* Two years of related construction experience preferred.
Work Requirements
* Must pass pre-employment physical, drug screen, criminal
background check and driving record review.
* Must be willing to work flexible schedule including: nights,
weekends and holidays when necessary.
* Must be legally authorized to work in The United States.
* Must demonstrate a strong commitment to safety.
* Regular and timely attendance is required.
* Regularly climb up and down into or out of the cab of the
vehicle, and climb up and down the rear ladder or rear access point
of the vehicle during loading, unloading and/or vehicle wash
down.
* Stand for long periods of time performing loading and offloading
of materials in hot weather or current conditions.
* Regularly climb up and down into or out of the cab of the

down.
Knowledge/Skill Requirements
* Ability to read, write and do intermediate mathematical
calculations (ratios, fractions, algebraic equations).
* Solid organizational skills.
* Ability to understand and follow verbal and written
instructions.
* Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing.
* Ability to effectively direct others in the workplace.
* Intermediate computer skills. Able to learn various plant
computer systems.
* Ability to use basic power tools.
* Basic knowledge in electricity and mechanics.
* Must have good customer service skills.
* Must possess attention to detail.
* Regular and timely attendance is required.
