This full-time Selected Exempt Service position is located at Rookery Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve in Naples, Florida.

Duties and Responsibilities

The incumbent in this position oversees the facilities day-to-day operations at the Rookery Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve.

The duties of the Facility Coordinator are to recruit, train and supervise facilities staff and volunteers; maintain regional facilities, grounds, vehicles, boats, machinery and equipment; oversee cleaning of buildings, waste disposal, and recycling; ensure that facilities meet fire, ADA, health and safety standards; assist with facilities related procurement; manage security; manage and supervise contractual work; support events and programs; manage structural construction projects; and respond to facility related emergencies.

The Facilities Coordinator works with managers to plan and prioritize activities and projects in line with strategic regional objectives and find integrated solutions on a variety of organizational challenges. The Facilities Coordinator also assists with identifying resources and funding, through developing and maintaining strategic partnerships with the public and private sectors, and preparing proposals, including cost calculation and analysis.

The Facilities Coordinator participates in regional meetings and programs, and develops reports as required by the Florida Department of Environmental Protection, National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, grantors and managers; and assists with other duties as required.

Performs various other duties as assigned or required.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Associate Degree from accredited college or university in management or related field, or 2 years of management experience. 5 years of experience in facilities maintenance and project management. Ability to develop projects and proposals; to plan and prioritize facilities maintenance activities and projects; Ability to develop partnerships with private and public sector; to identify and allocate resources, including funding; Experience in boat and vehicle maintenance; Experience coordinating and working with volunteers.

Class E Driver's License required.
