General Responsibilities:The Manager, Corporate Compensation will manage the implementation, maintenance, and administration of the organization's compensation plans and programs.
Hertz's broad-based and incentive compensation programs are critical to driving business performance. This role is responsible for the execution of organizational incentive compensation including but not limited to system builds, administration, customer service, monitoring and reporting, and governance frameworks. This role frequently engages with internal compensation design, business, and HR leaders, external vendors, and cross-functional and matrixed teams.


  • Manage the implementation and administration of compensation programs including base pay structures, short-term incentive programs, equity analyses award distribution. Also, manage the annual merit and equity grant nomination process.
  • Be the internal consultant and expert for total compensation best practices, industry trends, legislative regulations, compliance issues, and market competitiveness. Research complex tax, compensation, stock option and executive compensation matters.
  • Conduct analysis of jobs, salaries, and incentives in order to evaluate internal equity, external competitiveness, and legal compliance of the organization's pay practices.
  • Lead the review of compensation market data and development of market reference ranges, including report development and analysis, movement recommendation, and costing for the US and additional countries as necessary.
  • Ensure the Compensation strategy fosters a high-performance culture while aligning with business priorities and competitive talent attraction and retention through collaboration with Business Partners, Finance, HRBPs, Talent Acquisition, and HR Shared Services.
  • Ensure the Compensation strategy meets compliance standards for state, federal, and international compensation laws, accounting/finance, and tax regulations.
    Essential Requirements:
    • Minimum 6 years of relevant compensation experience, at progressively responsible levels
    • Bachelor's degree in Business, Human Resources, Finance, or related field
    • Expertise in the development and implementation of various types of compensation programs including base, variable pay, executive compensation, short and long-term incentive
    • Advanced technical skills with Excel, Incentive Management Software (i.e., Varicent), and HRIS (i.e., Oracle, ADP)
    • Excellent decision making, problem-solving, and analytical skills
    • Proven organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities and projects from conception to completion
    • Strong communication, collaboration, and influencing skills with a demonstrated ability to leverage strategic partnerships to drive change
