Summary: As a project based HR Generalist, you will manage human
resources activities including employee relations, talent
management, performance management, benefits, leaves of absence,
and employee engagement.
Including but not limited to:
--- Respond to employee inquiries regarding policies, procedures,
and programs. Answer HR-related questions on policy interpretation;
listen to, investigate, and respond to employee concerns.
--- Manage the full cycle recruitment process through onboarding
for both exempt and non-exempt staff.
--- Provide general guidance to employees on employee benefits
--- Coordinate and guide managers through HR programs and processes
such as performance reviews, employee engagement and merit review
processes, and other employee-related programs.
--- Partner with managers on disciplinary decisions to ensure
compliance with Lane policies; attend disciplinary meetings, and/or
termination meetings, as needed.
--- Manage the termination process including the coordination and
collection of required documentation, submission for final check
and completion of exit interviews.
--- Manage leaves of absences and short-term/long-term disability
cases, including communication with employees, management, and
--- Maintain knowledge of legal requirements and government
reporting regulations affecting human resources functions and
ensure policies, programs, and reporting are being followed.
--- Manage employee engagement activities for project.
--- Carry out job duties while maintaining Lane values.
--- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources and/or experience in
--- Background experience in construction industry
--- Minimum of 4 years of prior HR Generalist experience
--- Strong knowledge of local state laws/regulations.
--- Previous experience with recruiting, employee relations,
corrective action, benefits, and employee engagement. Union
experience is preferred.
--- Knowledge of federal, state and local employment laws and
regulations, including knowledge of EEOC, ADA, and FMLA.
--- MS Office proficiency
--- Experience with JD Edwards or other Human Resources Information
System and Applicant Tracking System
--- Excellent verbal and written communication and diplomacy skills
with all levels of employees
--- Able and willing to travel to other business unit
