Location:Work At HomePay Range:$20.78 - $36.53Position SummaryThe trainer pharmacy operations transitions will support the growth and maintenance of both the department and organization in Training, Transitional Leadership, Fiscal Responsibilities, and Quality Assurance. In their transition duties, will provide leadership, oversight, and guidance over the pharmacy training process and onboarding of new pharmacy staff. Utilizing their expert-level training skillsets in sterile compounding, oncology, and pharmacy practice to onboard, coach, and mentor Pharmacy Staff and Clinical Nurse Managers while also employing project management strategies to ensure the success of our transitions and training program. Extensive travel, including extended stays out of state, will be required.When not training or on transitions , employee will be responsible for the continued monitoring of their assigned region where they will regularly review trends and metrics that impact both inventory management as well and compliance to policies and procedures. This role is fiscally responsible to ensure that drug losses are mitigated, and cost-recovery efforts are in place to ensure the minimal financial impact to the organization. Provide an evaluation of current processes and work systems against process descriptions, standards, and procedures. Partner with clinical staff and management to discuss and communicate the results of system checks and ensure any non-compliance issues are addressed. Expected to assist in other areas within the department and organization when requested.Primary Key Performance AreasKPA 1 -Mastery of Pharmacy Practice and Operations

  • Demonstrate a thorough and accurate knowledge of pharmacy practice, including but not limited to: Sterile Compounding, Handling of hazardous drugs, Medical safety, State and Federal laws, etc.
  • Stay current in pharmacy education/practice through professional development, involvement in professional organizations, and attending professional meetings, conferences, or workshops.
  • Learn and use technology to enhance teaching and the educational experience when appropriate.
  • Ability to maintain a thorough knowledge base and ability to perform all duties of a clinic pharmacy technician.KPA 2 - Training and Educational Performance
    • Plan and organize instruction in ways that maximize documented learning
    • Employ appropriate teaching and learning strategies to communicate subject matter to clinical staff.
    • Modify, where appropriate, instructional methods and strategies to meet the educational needs of staff.
    • Prepare training materials and deliver such materials in on-site (live) sessions and webinar format.
    • Evaluate training results and recommend additional resources to ensure successful transition.
    • Ensure all training activities and results are well documented at the completion of training and communicated through training documentation forms.KPA 3 - Fiscal & Financial Responsibilities
      • Monitor's weekly and monthly business intelligence reports to assess inventory losses, discrepancies, and misuse.
      • Identify trends in inventory and operational opportunities and communicate trend data to clinics as well as workflow improvement suggestions.
      • Work with pharmaceutical partners to identify cost recovery programs that will help reduce and mitigate financial losses to the organization.
      • Will maintain accounting forms and documentation related to drug losses (Clinic Charges) and communicate with pharmacy staff, clinical and regional leadership on replacement/reimbursement efforts.KPA 4 - Quality Assurance & Compliance
        • Maintains pharmacy operations quality assurance programs, including but not limited to competency testing and process improvement initiatives, performing virtual and on-site operational assessments of processes and Leadership Standard Work, etc.
        • Monitor quality assurance systems for assigned regions to ensure optional clinic operations, which include drug temperature monitoring.
        • Will support Root-Cause analysis of temperature variations ("Excursions") and work with pharmaceutical companies, pharmacists, and clinical staff to review Mean Kinetic Temperature allowances.
        • Maintain a thorough line of communication with state board of pharmacy, medicine, and other regulatory agencies to ensure regional compliance with any state-specific regulatory updates and changes that impact AON's Pharmacy Operations and admixture programs.KPA 5 - Communication & Project Management
          • Leads and participates in department calls, meetings, and conferences. Will also support and play an active role in developing and creating pharmacy education content, through newsletter articles and other supplemental guides and resources.
          • Implements project management tools and resources to transitional and training planning.
          • Supports department rulings and guidance's in streamlining processes and procedures.
          • As a pharmacy operations business partner, will provide on-going remote support to clinical staff via email, phone, and webinars
          • Continuously monitors service requests and ensures timely documentation and communication on consults and questions.QualificationsEducation
            • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
            • Associates Degree preferred.
              • Completion of a Pharmacy Technician Training Program is preferred, but not required.Certifications/Licenses
                • Registration and/or Certification as a Pharmacy Technician, required at the time of hire.
                • Certified Compounded Sterile Preparation Technician (CSPT), required within six months of hire.
                • Valid state Driver's License for travel to satellite offices and offsite meetings. Compliance with the company Driver Safety Operations and Motor Vehicle Records Check Policy is required.Experience
                  • Minimum of three years' pharmacy technician experience, one of which involves the handling of sterile drug preparations and/or hazardous drugs, preferably in a clinical oncology setting.Core Capabilities

                    • Self-Management: Effectively manages own time, conflicting priorities, self, stress, and professional development. Self-motivated and self-starter with ability work independently with limited supervision. Ability to work remotely effectively as required.
                    • Must be able to work effectively in a fast-paced, multi-site environment with demonstrated ability to juggle competing priorities and demands from a variety of stakeholders and sites.
                    • Computer Skills:
                      • Expert in MS Office Word, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook required.Travel:> 75%
                        • As a reminder those who drive must provide copies of the declarations page of their personal insurance policy for each vehicle that they can use to the Human Resources Department for verification purposes annually. Required Limits: Split Limits of $100,000/$300,000/$100,000.Standard Core Workdays/Hours: Monday to Friday 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM.
