in--- The Physical Therapist provides services under the direction
and supervision of the Director of Physical Therapy and follows the
guidelines set by the practice leadership teams as a patient
advocate assuring the delivery of physical therapy meets legal,
ethical, and institutional standards while adhering to the
philosophy, objectives, policies, and procedures of the department
and the organizationHad you been with us last month, these are the
things you would do:
- The Physical Therapist Assistant provides treatment to patients
relative to age, culture, and condition in the assigned clinical
areas.
- Contributes to physical therapist's effectiveness by
identifying patient care issues; providing information and
commentary; recommending options and courses of action;
implementing physical therapy directives.
- Documents patient treatment and progress, appropriately in the
medical record. Documentation must meet peer review
requirements.
- Communicates pertinent patient information with the supervising
physical therapist, patient, family members, physicians, team
members, and other disciplines.
- Performs therapeutic procedures by administering manual
exercises; instructing, encouraging, and assisting patients in
performing physical activities, such as non-manual exercises,
ambulatory functional activities, and daily living activities; and
in using supportive devices, such as crutches, canes, and
prostheses.
- Provides continuity of care by developing and implementing
patient management plans
- Alertness and careful attention to detail is required to avoid
injury. Must be able to deal with stressful and/or complex
situations
- Maintains a safe and clean working environment by complying
with procedures, rules, and regulations and adhering to
infection-control policies and protocols.
- Maintains production objectives by noting current treatment
trends; monitoring actual physical therapy services rendered to
production objectives.
- Maintains legal and accreditation compliance by adhering to
policy positions concerning federal, state, and local regulations,
and PartnerCare standards; anticipating emerging issues. and after
having done all these things and more, you would have the
following---
- Associates Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited
university or technical institution.
- At least three years of experience as a physical therapist
- Knowledge of legal, medical, and accreditation compliance
