• The ability to be a shared employee with other Bayfront facilities Bayfront Health Punta Gorda is located 5 minutes off I-75 in a quaint waterfront town. The hospital is surrounded with waterfront views and wonderful local restaurants. POSITION PURPOSE Performs manual and automated routine blood tests. Prepares specimens for microscope examination. Operates laboratory equipment including centrifuges, dry bath incubators, and blood bank refrigerators. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is expected. Typically reports to supervisor or manager. Requires graduation from an accredited MLT program, passing a national exam given by the Board of Registry of the American Society for Clinical Pathology, and at least 4 years of experience. Current Florida state license as a Technologist with preference for licensure in all five lab categories; Microbiology, Serology/Immunology, Clinical Chemistry, Hematology, and Immunohematology. Prefer that candidate be registered with a national organization (ASCP, NCCLS, AMT).
