Include but are not limited to:
- Ensure the plant employees and guests on site comply with
safety, quality and environmental practices lead by example and
build a safety-first culture
- Provide full support to the Safety Coordinator ensuring all
opportunities and incidents are reported promptly
- Uphold a high-quality standard and expectations ensuring that
reporting standards meet asset forth by DOTs, NPCA and ACI (as
applicable to your operations), in conjunction with Quality Control
and Quality assurance coordinators where applicable.
- Provide effective management and leadership including
evaluating employee performance, coordinate training opportunities,
mentor and develop employees, provide coaching, written and verbal
feedback, rewards, and discipline when necessary.
- Be a leader and coach leadership. Motivate crews during morning
huddles and team meetings.
- Successfully hire, supervise, orient, train and retain
operations/product staff
- Lead team in production scheduling to meet customer needs
including timely delivery, operational forecasting and labor
management.
- Develop a keen focus on customer service and proactive
communication across the team
- Practice effective delegation and leadership in all areas while
monitoring plant performance at large and improving
profitability.
- Partner with the Regional teams to ensure proper drawings and
designs are being used during the manufacturing process
- Communicate with designers and customers to ensure projects can
be completed seamlessly, in some cases sales skills will be
required to finalize the deals.
- Develop the business to ensure the financial and growth goals
of the business can be achieved
- Ensure all purchased materials supplied from outside vendors
and suppliers conforms to governing specifications while ensuring
that raw material supply is consistent; including but not limited
to ready mix concrete, steel and product hardware
- Understand actual product unit cost, to be able to estimate
work and provide quotes to internal and external clients.
- Develop continuous improvements process to reduce costs and
improve productivity.
- Promote and maintain a clean workplace that is tour-ready at
all times.
- Ability to operate some of the standard tools on the plant
floor such as, hand tools, batch plant, etc. While the Plant
Manager will not be asked to operate these things continuously,
having some of these skills will make him/her a better coach and
troubleshooter.
- Develop forecasts and budgets with assistance from Divisions
and Operational management.
- Review and understand the plant financials, to develop
improvements to the process.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives in all areas. Review
all equipment and structures, identifying those that might need to
be replaced or added. Plan for replacements/additions by including
costs in the annual capital budget.
- Work within Delegation limit
- Work with HR to ensure compliance with employment laws
- Accurate and timely reporting: Safety, Quality, Workers Comp
claims, materials/production, company portal data, staff movement,
etc.
- Perform any other duties as assigned by the Vice president of
Operations as deemed appropriate and necessary by them. Education
and Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in business, operations, engineering or
equivalent experience
- 10+ years of experience working in a leadership role in an
industrial manufacturing environment
- Experience with precast/concrete/steel or other building
materials is a plus
- Proven track record of developing, leading and maintaining a
continuous improvement mindset at the plant
- Ability to work on your feet for the majority of the day in a
production/plant environment subject to areas that are unheated
and/or non-air conditioned
- Ability to work with computer as necessary (Microsoft Word,
Excel, PowerPoint, AX)
- Ability to lead and direct other individuals and work with
other group leaders
- Strong business acumen and financial management skills
- Ability to make data- based decisions. Work environment
Frequent exposure to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical
parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment and
job sites can be loud. Must be able to lift and move up to 50 Lbs.

materials
- 10 year(s): Experience working in a leadership role in an
industrial manufacturing environment EducationPreferred
