Administers $67 billion in total client assets as of October 31, 2021. - About This Job Managing a smaller Commerce Trust Company office in one market with one location, the incumbent is expected to manage all trust functions to assure that established sales and operational goals are met in compliance with CTC/legal/Commerce requirements. - The incumbent is expected to work collaboratively within the market to develop internal and external referral resources and act as the primary salesperson in the solicitation and closing of asset management services to our targeted client base. - - - Essential Functions

  • Meet assigned business development expectations, individually and for the team as a whole
  • Assure financial/operational goals are met while complying with established policies/procedures
  • Provide guidance to CTC staff to develop and maintain profitable client relationships
  • Establish and maintain internal and external referral sources -
  • Active involvement in the community
    • Develop new business development opportunities
    • Build/maintaining CTCs reputation
    • Lead, mentor and motivate team members
    • Manage department workflow with guidance on departmental projects/issues
    • Provide coaching and development opportunities appropriate to each direct report's needs
    • Perform all necessary management functions, such as:
      • Support budget management, planning and expenditure
      • Hiring, evaluations, annual increase allocations
      • Disciplinary actions as required
      • Communicate CTC decisions, priorities and relevant information to team members
      • Participate as member of CTC's leadership team to advance the market's strategic goals:
        • Make decisions regarding event sponsorships, marketing and internal employee events
        • Represent the bank at community events, including speaking engagements
        • Perform other duties as assigned Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required
          • Strong knowledge of the trust services, taxation, insurance, estate planning and investments field, including knowledge of best practices
          • Ability to manage complex relationship sales cycle
          • Strong critical thinking skills with the ability to apply discretion and sound judgement to efficiently and effectively solve problems
          • Ability to drive results and balance management of organizational risk and meeting goals of the business line
          • Strong leadership skills with ability to motivate team members and foster a positive team environment that gives way to collaboration and unified goals
          • Outstanding interpersonal and relationship building skills with the ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the company, clearly expressing ideas and concepts both verbally and in writing
          • Ability to remain adaptable and resilient to all situations with an optimistic outlook and cast a positive shadow that is aligned with our culture and Core Values
          • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Teams and Outlook - Education & Experience
            • Bachelor's degree in general business, finance, accounting, management or equivalent combination of education and experience required
            • 6+ years' experience required
