• The Director of Surgical Services is accountable and responsible for the effective delivery of competent, compassionate, and efficient patient care Medical Unit and Surgical Unit.
• This includes overall direction of clinical, human resources, and financial management.
• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• BSN required; MSN or masters in related field preferred. --
• Minimum of 7-10 years acute care experience--preferred, including five (5) years of management or supervisory experience.
• Must have a license to practice professional nursing in the state of Florida.
• Current BLS and ACLS required.--Responsibilities including but not limited to:
  • Oversees the daily operations of the surgery department.
  • Responsible for the procurement and maintenance of equipment and supplies, staffing and training of employees, and budgeting.
  • May oversee pre- and post-operative care of patients.
  • Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
  • Performs a variety of complex tasks.
  • Leads and directs the work of others.
  • A wide degree of creativity and latitude is required.
  • Typically reports to an executive.
  • May require a master's degree in a related area and at least 10 years of experience in the field.
  • Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures.INDPR
