MISSION:
RCMA Immokalee Community Academy, a "B" rated Title I Charter
School in Collier County, is seeking an energetic, passionate
Literacy Instructional Coach (bilingual preferred -
English/Spanish) for the remainder of the 2022-2023 school
year.
RCMA Immokalee Community Academy, serving the area for more than
twenty-one years, is dedicated to opening doors of opportunity for
the children of Florida's farmworkers and agricultural migrants.
Most students in our small, community-oriented classes are English
Language Learners of Central American heritage with big dreams of
making their mark. Our teachers often comment on how privileged
they feel to work with young people who so greatly appreciate
learning! In order to best serve our student population, the school
is a dual language program school (50:50, English/Spanish), with a
one-way immersion model.
Our successful K-8 Charter School is located in Immokalee, Florida.
Our school serves approximately 335 children, with two homerooms
per grade level from K-8; our small size allows us to serve our
students and their families on a personal level.
Redlands Christian Migrant Association, RCMA, is a non-profit
corporation serving Florida agriculture workers and their children
for more than fifty years. RCMA was recently named as a "Schools of
Hope operator" by the State Board of Education, a prestigious
designation for non-profit, charter school operators.

PURPOSE OF POSITION: As a Literacy Instructional Coach (bilingual
preferred - English/Spanish) for RCMA Immokalee Community Academy,
you will play a vital role in student success. You will be
responsible for growing the talents of our K-8 literacy teachers by
providing them with meaningful, ongoing coaching and professional
learning. The Instructional Coach will support teachers by helping
with the "what" and "how" of teaching and by using the national,
state and district curriculum standards to plan instruction and
assessment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: include the following
however, other duties may be assigned:
Collaborate with the principal to set and uphold expectations for
excellent literacy instruction that is data driven, standards
aligned, and rooted in a belief that all students can achieve at
their fullest capacity.
Ensure that students receive outstanding literacy instruction by
regularly observing teachers, providing clear, targeted feedback,
setting goals for improvement, and following up with additional
coaching.
Support the implementation of high-quality instructional materials
(Amplify CKLA/Caminos) across K-5 dual language classrooms through
collaborative planning and teacher observation.
Assist the leadership team in the planning and facilitation of
engaging professional learning opportunities grounded in the
science of reading and dual language instruction
Use teacher observations and student performance data to identify
targeted group professional learning opportunities.
Support student engagement and learning through strategies embedded
in instruction, co-planning units of study, at elbow coaching, team
teaching, modeling lessons, reflective practices, modeling small
group instruction, and providing support with curriculum
assessments.
Assist administration and classroom teachers in the interpretation
of student assessment data.
Participate in RCMA Charters Leadership Team and school improvement
teams.
Perform tasks and assume responsibilities as the Director of
Charter Schools and Principals may from time to time assign.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: The successful candidate is motivated by
the mission to move RCMA Charter schools from Good to Great. This
position offers the opportunity to have a profound and lasting
impact on student learning and achievement. Candidates must possess
the following qualifications:
Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary
Education or related field with at least 3 years of successful
experience in teaching children K-8, a minimum of 3 years working
with teacher coaching, professional development, and support of
curriculum execution.
Knowledge of pedagogy, educational principles, and principles of
dual language programming.
Holds a valid teaching license in the State of FL, or eligible to
transfer a valid license to the State of FL. Holds the Reading
Endorsement or equivalent coursework.
Proven track record of student achievement.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Experience with economically disadvantaged
families in a community setting.
