Position Status: Regular Full-time
Salary Range: Starting rate of pay $25.00 per hour ($52,000
Overtime status: Non-Exempt
Schedule: Monday through Friday, some potential weekends
Benefits: Eligibility is in accordance with the Foundation
Description of Duties Performed:
Analyzes information by developing spreadsheet reports; verifying
Prepares general ledger entries by maintaining records and files;
Prepares payments by accruing expenses; assigning account numbers;
requesting disbursements; reconciling accounts.
Picks up the cash drop from remote locations daily and brings them
to the Commons.
Take deposits to bank, pick up change, etc., several times per
Maintain the log of utility expenses.
Maintain employee meal sheets for all departments in Excel
Process receipts of quarterly and annual assessment billing and
assist in collections.
Assists Accounts Payable as needed.
Maintain insurance certificates.
Index and electronically file Foundation documents.
Assist in the monthly counting of inventory at the retail outlets,
Performs other accounting assignments as assigned.
Perform administrative duties as assigned.
Maintains a clean and organized work and reception areas.
Protects organization's value by keeping information
Updates job knowledge by participating in educational
opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining
personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
Skills and Abilities:
Must be detail-oriented with keen attention to accuracy.
Must be highly skilled in dealing with financial and numeric
Must be highly skilled in use of Excel spreadsheets.
Must be skilled in use of MS Word and must be a good writer in
order to handle the occasional administrative needs of the
Must have very good verbal skills.
Must have excellent work habits, including a willingness to work
the hours necessary to get the job done, especially when important
deadlines cause greater than normal departmental pressures.
Qualifications and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent
An Associate's or Bachelor's degree in accounting or in business
with emphasis in accounting (from a credible college or
university), is considered a plus.
Three to four years' experience in accounting or
Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
Must be able to do basic math.
Strong computer skills - i.e. Microsoft Excel, Word and Power
Knowledge of general ledger system, preferably Jonas.
Other skills needed include strong analytical skills, detail
oriented, well organized, ability to multi-task.
Positive, well-mannered attitude and demeanor.
Successful completion of the Foundation's drug test and background
Accounting, SFAS Rules, Reporting Skills, Deadline-Oriented, Time
Management, Attention to Detail, Confidentiality, PC Proficiency,
Productivity, Verbal Communication.
